It's so fluffy I could DIE!

Looky what's in my backyard! I swear, I live "Where the Wild Things Are!!!"

Gorgeous red foxes! They were huge, probably 60-70 pounds I would guess. They decided that my backyard would be the perfect mating spot. I decided to respect their privacy and capture only the non-intimate moments. Now I just wonder if I can put my name down for one of their pups for a pet!

UPDATE: Was informed by my Mom that I am delusional and they were probably only about 20-30 lbs. Oops! There goes my imagination again!

Days of Wine and Roses

Oh how wonderful life is when finals are over! I'm loving my leisurely lifestyle that's developed in this week's time. Tonight, I had a luxurious pedicure with one of the best friends anyone could ask for! Lauren, Happy Belated Birthday!

Now, we are studying on the couch while watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire...a piece of Papa Murphy's pizza in hand, drinking a glass of my new favorite wine: Sebeka Cabernet Pinotage!

Oh how yummy! It's earthy, velvetty, and just a touch sweet. I may just go and buy a case as I'm going through a red wine stage currently. I am ridiculously giddy for some odd reason today...so this just can't get any better! Off tomorrow evening to a fantastically traditional Southern home for a heart-warming dinner party. Can't wait for the Faulkner Ladies' Christmas Dinner!

To be, or not to be...

...a ballet dancer. That is the question. I've always regretted the fact that I quit dancing when I was little and my search for a hobby has taken a turn for the graceful.

I've looked into taking some classes here in Lexington, but the adult beginner's niche is difficult to find. It's all toddlers and tiaras. Has anybody out there danced and had any experience as an adult?

Ooooooooh...Sparkly!

Christmas decorations are up! This is the first year I've done full Christmas decorations at my house in Lexington. I put up decorations on the mantle, dining room table, and put up a tree!

I'm so in love with all the sparkles, lights, and shiny things! I might just have to throw a little holiday party! I even got my little Alphie out front a holiday crown! Now he looks like the king of the neighborhood!

Nerdy perfection

Here I am! Back in all my nerd glee! I have stumbled upon one of the bestest things of the internet ever! Courtesy of smosh.com...made in accordance with one of my favorite things on this planet: LISTS! I bring you, ladies and gentlenerds: the ultimate villain comparisson!

please, I invite you to click and embiggen

Of course, all of this comes after my trip to the theater with my parents to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. Perfect timing!

So, do tell, do you think the correct verdict was reached?

Repeat After Me

Can you say, "Fed Up?!"...because, that's what I am. Fed up. I'm angry that I let my running slip when I got back to school. I'm angry that I eat fast food nearly every day. I'm angry that I'm tired and stressed out all the time! You know what would fix all these problems???

TONY HORTON and P90X, that's what!

So running off of a friend's encouragement, I started today. She's finished it and gone on to do the doubles p90x series, which she just finished. I was so jealous of her rockin' abs in her troll costume this Halloween! haha! So, I've gotten my booty off the couch and have decided that I really do want these things! I just finished chest & back along with ab ripper x. I feel like jello...however, I have more energy than I've had in a couple months! I can't wait for tomorrow's workout already!

BTW, unbeknown to many, I attempted this series last year, but failed miserably before the first week was even finished. Must Not Quit!!! Ladies and Gents, feel free to mock me if I wimp out!

For now, I am a squishy little dental student, but soon I will be a rock hard terminatrix! Just a little motivation from my current obsession with Cameron in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

aka: Summer Glau

Basically, she's just a kick butt girl robot. I also watched a tad bit of Firefly; unfortunately, Summer isn't quite as hardcore in it. Not yet at least!!! From what I hear, the show is pretty action packed and I really hope my motivation will do some booty whoopin'!

Well, I'm off to drink my recovery drink, otherwise known as cookies and cream protein shake from GNC! yummmmm!

News Flash...

...I just ate the most disgusting soup ever...

Tastes like old chef boyardee! ick! And to think I was so excited for a grilled cheese and tomato soup only to be greeted with this.

I'm alive!

Oh good gravy, I've fallen off the face of the blogosphere! I've been a busy little bee, seeing as we picked up four new classes recently without doing away with any of the old ones. Plus, my clinic schedule is HOPPIN' y'all! I love it! In the fantastic words of Earl Smooter, "You can't ride two horses with one ass, sugarbean." Hence my absence from the internet in general.

One thing that I am so disapointed about is my complete lack of watching my TV shows! My Sheldon fix has not been satisfied in the least as of late:

Oh, Sheldy...I am so sorry I have deserted you! How I wish I could be Amy Farrah Fowler...

Sorry guys, I drifted off into a little daydream right there. Anywho, I'm back and so stinkin' excited for the next couple months! I've got all types of fun activities planned! Updates will be shared later! :-) Inspiration boards to come!

Ponies! Hooray!

Well, hello there! After a busy busy busy weekend of sitting on my rear end with my nose in a book, I'm finally back! And quite refreshed! The parental units are coming to visit this weekend and I couldn't be happier. Even better??? We're going to Keeneland! Hoorah! My dad somehow managed to snag clubhouse tickets, which I must admit: I don't even know what that entails...haha! Ah, just imagining the fabulousness of this weekend gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. I've been a tad homesick lately...

My mom and dad mean so much to me and have been the most incredible, supportive people I have ever had in my life. I'm so proud to call myself their daughter and can't wait to spend some time with them around the gorgeous city of Lexington!

If you can't tell, I'm in a fantastic mood today. I'm halfway through my microbiology class, it's autumn, I get to sleep with my windows open (it's the small things), I have some fantastic patients in clinic, I get to go see the ponies with my parents this weekend, got a pleasant surprise in my radiology grade, and soooooooo much more!

Also, I couldn't love my friends more! Wow, I'm so sappy today, huh? I've been so busy that I haven't been spending much time with them lately, but they are awesome. I'm thinking of some fun times tailgating with them at keeneland before I go with my parents to the clubhouse. (hmmmmmm...what to wear???)

I'll leave you on this note: Please go out and enjoy yourself this weekend! Especially if you're here in the bluegrass, it's going to be gorgeous, sunny, and just all around PERFECT!

Farewell and see you at Keeneland Saturday!

Blog-o numero uno

Well, after an entire morning of snooze alarm (and yes, I mean from 7 til 10:30) I've finally crawled out of my bed and into my 62 degrees warm downstairs. All this for a fantastically persistent case of insomnia last night. So much so that I decided to sleep in the spare bedroom simply to get out of my own head.

Anywho...after I got my sorry booty out of bed, I sat down to do a little studying and realized that I didn't have enough time to go through the first chapter even...hence the blogging. I've discoverred a fun little bloggy called
eat.live.shop.. It has everything I've ever wanted...plus some! It's brilliantly laid out and fantastically urban. Which is right up my alley these days. The author is a young lady named Renee. She's from Toronto and I'm coincidentally dying to go on a little Canadian road trip! So, hop on over there and check her out!

Oh Lordy Lordy...after a mini-breakup last night brought on by a realization that "it would never work out," I am going through my favorite post relationship traditions. Y'all know what I'm talking about: haircut, contemplation of going brunette (for both myself and a future beau), and of course banning myself from facebook. Yes ladies and gents, my face no longer graces the pages of the world's largest social networking site. Which means.......................TIME TO DO MORE BLOG RESEARCH!!!

So, for the next few weeks, I'll be sharing my newly discoverred fantastic blogs. I also even considerred doing a "What I Wore Wednesday" today. Unfortunately, I wore scrubs for the past two days and decided that it would indeed be just as boring as I had suspected. I wish I had some brilliant idea to replace this trend, alas...nope. I'm all tapped out, both emotionally and intelectually. Radiology this morning and virology on Monday.

Although! Typing that last sentence gave me a little reminder of what I'm doing this weekend!!! KEENELAND KEENELAND KEENELAND!!! My favorite event of the year! I'm so excited to be as preppy as possible and rock out my Ray Ban Clubmasters I got for graduation! I wonder how they would look with my new (possible) brunette hair. I have expertly created a picnik version of me as a brunette. See below...with my friend April. What do y'all think? I'd love some feedback! (Definitely something would have to be done about my blonde eyebrows, btw)

Apology

Sorry for the annoyingly whiney post earlier today. That is all...

Is it Fall yet?

Oh Kentucky...you insist on holding on to that scorching heat of summer. All I want to do is break out one of those new sweaters I bought! Is that so much to ask? I guess Autumn will come soon enough...

On another note, I am amidst a scholastic catastrophe. My ability to motivate myself has gone down the toilet with the passing of this last immunology test. For the first time in my life, I sat down to a test read through the first few questions and said, "Uh-oh! I don't know this...at all." Mind you, this is after spending nearly 15 hours every day for the prior 4 days studying for this test. So now I need to change my attitude and buckle down. All I have to do is figure out how...

Oh yeah, and that whole training thing??? I've been totally stinkin' it up in that area of my life. It's been a couple weeks since I've seen the inside of the gym. oh lordy...what is wrong with me? Anywho, I'm off to school right now, so I have to put on my big girl panties and deal with all this...shtufff...blah.

Outfit Monogamy

I've seen several of my friends post "What I Wore Wednesdays." Basically, I am astutely jealous. I want to post my fantastic and eclectic outfits for the week! Unfortunately, I would basically have to post something similar to this picture EVERY DAY:

And who on earth wants to see a slight variation of the color of my scrubs five time a week and jeans and a tee for studying on the weekends? Anybody??? Nobody??? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I'm beginning to think that I might need to start on the whole "business casual" wear to the clinic. My outfit monogamy has gotten ridiculous. Although, I did love my uniform in high school. If only they'd let me wear my plain shorts and a white, crested polo to school nowadays...

Keep up the "WIWW" posts friends! I'm living vicariously through you!

My Shameless Obsession

Hello everyone. I wanted to share one of my odd obsessions with y'all. I am a wedding blog addict. I love them (and I'm not afraid to admit it)! When i see all those ecstatic couples, proud families, and the insanely abundant flowers I get all warm and fuzzy inside! Now, don't get too excited out there in internet land, I am NOT planning one of my own. Far from it! With no plans for one anytime soon! My absolute FAVORITE wedding blog is without a doubt Southern Weddings Magazine's Blog. (See that nifty link imbedding trick? I learned that from another one of my favorite non-wedding blogs, Epbot)

Anywho, my absolute love of these wedding blogs is unshakable. Recently i have run across this fantastic couple who had a video featured on swsmag. I love the video and how in love they seem! It makes me want to hang out with the tennis team here at UK! It's also great to see southern flair brought into a ceremony from a couple from opposite sides of the world (She's from CA and he's from South Africa). So, here it is, enjoy and pay attention to that giddy feeling you get when they kiss at the end of the ceremony!

Oh, the possibilities!

During my completely extravagant weekend off, I have discovered that FALL IS COMING! May I say, I am completely, head over heels excited! "Why," you ask? Clothes! Boots! Scarves! Oh My! So, I have decided to include a fantastic little wish-list. Mostly so I don't forget to buy any of these gems when it comes time! Enjoy!

From LOFT:

From J.Crew:

Finally, two shoes on the list:

first from Kimchi Blue...

and lastly, from LOFT again...

Obviously that's not everything, duh! But, it has the vibe I'm in the mood for! So, who wants to buy it all for me!!!!!

Needles!!!

Tomorrow morning is INJECTION TIME!!! I get to inject my anesthesiology partner with 2% lidocaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine. I feel like a freak, but I'm so psyched! Of course, she gets to do this to me too:

Well, not exactly...that's a Gow Gates Block, which isn't on our exam. But, it's remarkably close to an Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block. Love this! I'm actually going to be a dentist and I am so ridiculously ecstatic for this first event. It's a rite of passage and tomorrow is going to be a great day, I've already decided!

Good Morning Childhood!

Oh wow! My childhood has returned!!! Here I am, just minding my own business and drinking my coffee. Being all adult-like and checking my e-mail...when what comes on but the following:

HANSON!!!!!!!!!! I can't express to you how this video makes me feel. Well, as early as I woke up and that I'm headed to school, it still makes me feel giddy. So please, enjoy. and I've decided that I must find a way to make this come on my TV as soon as I wake up every day. I would def learn the dance and have an early morning jig every day!

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Oh yeah!

Oh! and BTW, the little button at the bottom of the blog that says "daydream believer" links to my favorite charity. Click it and check it out! ;-)

To-do...

Well, I got back to Lexington last night and have unpacked *ugh* I'm going out today to buy some new tennis shoes and all my school books. Should be an expensive day, yikes! I'm headed to John's Run Walk shop. They help you custom select running shoes for what you want to do with them and your anatomy. They even analyze your old shoes to see wear patterns! Since I've started running lately, I've been having pain in my arches and I hope that some new shoes (my old ones are practically disintegrating) will fix the problem. Well, wish me luck...my money is burning a hole in my pocket!

Jens Voigt: "I would have ridden a horse … "

Ok, sooooo, I checked facebook one last time before leaving. Haha! I came across this little gem! Oh how you capture my heart team Saxo bank!

Jens Voigt: "I would have ridden a horse … "

What to do...

Well, as my 3 weeks of summer obsession has ended I am at a loss for what to do with my time. The Tour de France is over and I am not a happy camper. You see, I'm completely Andy Schleck obsessed and second place just won't cut it for me.

Ain't he presh? BTW, those flowers are not for me unfortunately...

So in an effort to fill my time, I am bumping up my training in an effort for the Little Miami Triathlon on October 3rd. It consists of a 6 mile canoe, 5.5 mile run, and 18 mile bike. Yes, I said canoe. Don't really know how to train for that one. I'm thinking swim just in case of capsizing.

Also, heading back to school on Aug. 2nd should take my mind off things majorly. Dental school takes up pretty much every spare neuron in my brain. I get patients in September! Can't wait! Just call me Dr., yeah right. how about 1/4 DMD.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to being back, but will miss the company of my family. They've made the summer absolutely amazing and I undoubtedly will be a little more lonely back in my own house when I leave.

Off to the gym now, let's see how my canoeing training goes...
